Vans Bondi BOWL-A-RAMA™ Results & Recap

Last week at Vans Wellington BOWL-A-RAMA™ it was Steve Caballero who took first in the Masters and Pedro Barros who took second in the Pro. Saturday at Vans Bondi http://www.bowlarama.com.au/ the results were flip flopped with Pedro taking first in Pro and Cab taking second in Masters.
As the wild cheers settle, celebrations mark a day of amazing bowl shredding at the ninth annual Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi 2013. Crowds of thousands gathered in the sun to watch the world’s best skateboarders compete for an unprecedented prize purse of $100,000 AUD ($105,000 USD).
17-year-old Pedro Barros (BRAZIL) blew judges away, winning the Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi Pro Title, while the stellar Nicky Guerrero (DEN) walked away with the revered Masters Title.

There was no denying the heightened excitement at today’s epic battle as crowds of over 5,000 made their way through the action packed arena, while tens of thousands around the world tuned in via the official event webcast, live Fuel TV broadcast and Vans Live 2.0 App.

Fans watched Pedro Barros (BRAZIL) take the titles for the Vans BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi, skating against the biggest line-up Bondi has ever hosted. Proving his legendary status, Nicky Guerrero (DEN) collected his piece of the insane $100,000 AUD prize pool in second place and heading off with a rocket trophy.

With the competition in its ninth consecutive year, Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi hosted a packed week of events including art shows and parties that is affectionately known as ‘Festival of the Skateboard’.

We have worked very hard to ensure that Australia has a place on the international stage with Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi, we want to ensure that it works hard for Australian skaters. We now have a clear pathway for Australian riders to literally come from nowhere and earn their way onto the international tour by qualifying through Hurley ABC and going on to compete at Vans BOWL-A-RAMA™ Bondi.” Frontside Events director – Chad Ford.

CCS Lurkathon Free Skate Across America 3/2

Vans has teamed up with CCS for a day of free shredding at skateparks all across America. If you're anywhere near anyone of the 10 skatepark below come on out Saturday March 2nd for a day of fun, free stuff and skating with the bros.

The CCS Lurkathon is back! For one day only on March 2nd, ten of the best skate parks from around the country will be holding all day shred sessions that will include product tosses, raffles and best trick contests. 1. When was the last time you were embarrassed? 
After a gig I played this brother and sister came up to me after to tell me they dug the show. They went on to tell me that they were twins which I replied, "But you guys don't look like identical twins."

2. What is it you most dislike? 
I'm really disliking what I'm hearing on the radio these days, but what else is new...that's been the case for a long time now.

3. When was the last time you watched Ban This? 
Wow, it's been a while. 7 years maybe?

4. What was the last live concert you saw? 
We got to play with Tortiose in Berlin for a show Tommy Guerrero and myself curated, those guys killed it! That was a month ago.

5. When was the first time you picked up a camera? 
Don't know, probably when I started traveling for skateboarding back in high school.

6. What is your favorite camera film? 
It would have to be Arista Premium 400 black and white film.

7. What is your motto? 
Right now, working hard and making sure I'm enjoying what i'm doing.

8. What was the last skate video you saw that made you want to skate? 
Austin Gillette's Quik part is a rad one.

9. Where did you grow up? 
I grew up in San Jose, California. That's where I got into skateboarding and music .

10. Where was the last place you went on vacation?
Went with my family to Montego Bay, Jamaica mon. It was a blast.

11. What was the last camera you purchased? 
Just picked up a Yashica point and shoot. Such a good, happy snap camera, super sharp for a point and shoot .

12. When was the last time you did a no-comply? 
Yesterday. 

Miracle Whip Don't Be So Mayo Contest Winners!

First off, congrats to everyone who entered their videos into the contest. We were blown away by how many amazing videos entries we received. We saw a little bit of everything including Miracle Whip movie sets, numerous triple Miracle Whips, and even a Mira-Burglar! We received over 430 entries to the Don't Be So Mayo contest over the 1 week entry period and that was narrowed down to the top 5 during the voting period. Those 5 videos were then judged by the top notch judging panel here at BlackBox and the top 3 emerged.
